The project consists of a renovation and addition to accommodate a new rooftop amenity space for the office building tenants, including outdoor terrace space, new rooftop bathroom facilities, along with the vertical transportation including addition of a new stop for a single elevator to access the roof level, and the required egress for accommodating the new assembly occupancy.
The outdoor terrace space includes a variety of seating and gathering areas, a trellis, a grill and prep area, and egress stairs. The 12th floor level of the office building is renovated to accommodate the new stair, along with an exit corridor leading to the existing stair tower for the building.
The exterior walls of the new stair and bathroom facility are clad with brick to match the existing building, minimizing the visual impact of the newly enlarged penthouse enclosure. Areas of glass and aluminum window wall are utilized for purposes of daylighting the new program spaces.
